With tailor-made programmes such as the ZBT Research School, PhD peer mentoring and our wide range of training courses, we create an environment that promotes scientific excellence and supports our teams in their professional and personal development. ZBT Research School

The ZBT Research School brings together scientific employees at all career levels – from master’s students and doctoral candidates to group, project and department heads.

Members from all scientific departments regularly exchange ideas on their research topics, share knowledge and experience, and benefit from an interdisciplinary network.
This exchange promotes collaboration, strengthens scientific progress and provides a platform for personal and professional development.

Regular seminars, training courses and annual retreats further intensify the exchange and drive innovative solutions forward.

PhD Peer Mentoring

With its PhD Peer Mentoring Programme, the ZBT supports doctoral candidates in successfully planning and implementing their dissertations while working at the ZBT. In regular meetings, participants develop their research plans, discuss challenges and benefit both from the insights and knowledge of experienced mentors and from the exchange among themselves.

The programme offers structured support and a strong network for the entire doctoral process. The programme starts every January as an accelerator to provide targeted support to doctoral candidates and accelerate their progress.

Training

At ZBT, we attach great importance to continuing education that strengthens both technical and interdisciplinary skills. In internal training courses, our employees benefit from practical workshops that focus on collaborative learning. Examples include technical training courses covering topics such as electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and flow simulation.

At the same time, our Science Management Masterclasses offer further training in areas such as agile project management, scientific writing and successful research proposals. We also promote the development of transferable skills and administrative competencies – from data management to communication and leadership.

Of course, external training opportunities are also available to employees to further expand their skills.
