Standards – Tension field analysis at national, regional and international level

The Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Centre is preparing a publication on areas of tension in the field of hydrogen value chain standardisation

The Trans4ReaL project, which is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection, scientifically supports the “real-world laboratories of the energy transition with a focus on hydrogen technologies and sector coupling” as part of transfer research and analyses their findings across the board.

In this context, the Centre for Fuel Cell Technology ZBT has prepared a publication on areas of tension in the field of hydrogen value chain standardisation. The analysis of areas of tension looks at technical standardisation work internationally, regionally and nationally in relation to hydrogen. To this end, the basics of multinational cooperation, its implementation and the financing concepts of the technical standardisation organisations are examined and the current status of standardisation work is shown. The aim of the work is to provide an overview of the areas of tension identified and the approaches derived from them.
